Secrets, Magic & Mystery in These Spooky Little Drawing for Nucleus Gallery Portland

Nucleus Gallery has been in Los Angeles for several years.  I've missed it since I've moved up to Portland, Oregon.  But it doesn't have to be that way anymore because they just opened up a gallery in Portland on SE Hawthorne Blvd.  I'll be showing work in their grand opening show that starts in October 2016.

This gallery is a little different than their original location because this one has a bar.  They encourage artists to come drink and draw.  As you can see in the photo above, that exactly what is printed on their custom coasters.  They thought artists would come and draw on the back of them.  So that's exactly what they invited artists to do for the grand opening art show.

Yep, they gave me coasters to make art upon.  You can see my drawings in the photo above.  I wasn't sure what to do, so first, I did some preliminary drawings in my sketchbook.  When I liked them, I created the final drawings on the backs of the coasters.  They all have titles that have to do with secrets, magic and mystery.  The above drawings are, "Double Blind Twins"  and "Keeping Secrets".  I love these spooky little drawings.  I know they'll be snatched up quickly.  But I kind of wish I could keep them all for myself because they are so beautiful.

Come to the gallery on October 8th, to see the 6 drawings I created for this special grand opening art show and to see the over 100 artists' drawings on the back of these 4 inch x 4 inch coasters.  Each will be sold for $50.00 and they'll be up until November 8, 2016.  I can't wait to see all of the tiny masterpieces.
